The Sacred Legend of Co Chin Suoi Rong Temple
It is said that long ago, there was a beautiful girl named Co Chin. She was born and raised in a wealthy and noble family.
One day, during pleasant weather, Co Chin set out on a boat trip on the sea. When passing the coastal area near Ngoc Tuyen village (now Ngoc Xuyen Ward), a sudden storm struck, causing the boat to sink.
Her family organized a search for her. Upon reaching the area now known as Suoi Rong, they found her scarf and dress on a cliff. When they retrieved them, a stream of pure, cool water gushed continuously from the crevice in the rock.
The most extraordinary thing is that the water is cool in summer, warm in winter, and has never dried up, even during natural disasters or droughts. Since then, the locals have often visited Ngoc Mountain to collect Suoi Rong water for daily use. Remarkably, when this water is boiled and brewed with green tea leaves grown on Ngoc Mountain, it becomes exceptionally delicious and sweet.
After Co Chin passed away, her spirit became revered for its divine protection and blessings for both locals and visitors. In her honor, a temple was built on the cliff near Suoi Rong.
The Ancient Architecture of Co Chin Suoi Rong Temple
Co Chin Suoi Rong Temple was built during the Ly Dynasty. During the Le Trung Hung and Nguyen Dynasties, the temple was expanded and renovated. During this period, the shrine was arranged with the upper altar dedicated to the Three Holy Mothers, and the lower central altar dedicated to Co Chin.
The temple was built in traditional Vietnamese architectural style, with intricate carvings. The temple grounds are spacious, adorned with flowers and natural ornamental plants, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
